Adding rice to your next creative meal could help you eat less calories overall! People who eat a minimum of at least a fourth-cup of rice each day can take in an average of around 54 fewer calories per day than those who don't add rice to their diet, according to research at Iowa State University. Chalk it up to its usual plate-mates, such as veggies and rice or as a side to healthful entrees. And, different from other sides like potatoes, we don't generally top them with high-cal condiments such as butter or sour cream.
